Club Bio
The Crucible Snooker Club in its current life is open since 1984. It was previously known as Potters under the stewardship of Ray Deveraux, a man steeped in Cork snooker. The Hussey family who originated from Cathedral road then took over the reins and from 1984 to 2019 ran a very successful club catering for the north side of Cork city and beyond.The club was then bought by the Macau Sporting Club and has been under their stewardship since.
Our facilities include 6 championship snooker tables which include 1 Star table,1 Riley Aristocrat, 2 Shenders and 2 Tara tables. We also boast 3 Supreme pool tables.
Other facilities in the club include vending machines and a separate Casino for the enjoyment of our over 21 clientele.
The club runs under the supervision of manager David Joyce and his 5 staff members.

The club is also home to The Cork Snooker Academy, a very successful coaching clinic under the supervision of our SNOOKER AND BILLIARDS IRELAND Qualified coach Con Walsh. With over 40 years experience in the game.We cater for all ages and all levels of ability. Contact the club for further details.
As a club we are regarded as one of the countries leading clubs.We have numerous Munster and All Ireland club titles. We also boast the current Irish No. 1 Ryan Cronin and also 2 professional snooker players on the world snooker tour,Aaron Hill and Leone Crowley. Aaron is climbing up the world rankings and is currently No. 41 in the World. Leone is on his first year on tour and is acquitting himself very well. He is also a world junior snooker champion.
We are the only club on the island of Ireland to boast 2 snooker professionals.
We also have some legends of the game that call to us regulary to practice including Jimmy White, Ken Doherty, Steve Davis and Dave Causier the 7 times World billiards champion.
